West Highland White Terriers is one of the best of the terriers.  I of course am biased because I own two of my own.  I have lots of time to see their body shape and the different types of coats that you might see at your local dog park.

There are Westies that have absolutely straight hair.  There are some with sparse hair.  My two dogs have tons of hair.  I cant ever seem to keep their coat short enough in summer weather.

My male Westy has what is called a “cotton” coat.  it's very curly, but not as much as a poodle.

My female Westie has straight hair with lots of it.  It takes forever to cut it, but she is a patient dog and not at all like my male West Highland White Terrier, puts his paws over his nose so I can not groom him in one sitting.
